How our foodbank works
Providing emergency food to people in crisis.
Every day people in the UK go hungry for reasons ranging from redundancy to receiving an unexpected bill on a low income. A simple box of food makes a big difference, with foodbanks helping prevent crime, housing loss, family breakdown and mental health problems.
Our work is rooted in the Christian faith and the belief that every person is created in the image of God, possessing inherent worth and dignity. Inspired by the life and teachings of Jesus, we are committed
to ‘loving our neighbour’ through practical action and hospitality. We strive to be a living example of grace in action—a sanctuary where support and solutions meet—opening our doors to everyone,
regardless of faith or background, to be a source of transformation for all.
Food is donated
This is where you come in! Generous people across Bradford as individuals, schools, churches and businesses donate non-perishable, in-date food to us. You can donate food at Our Warehouse, B&M Wyke, Adsa Wyke or Co-Op Bailiff Bridge

Food is sorted and stored
Our team of 40 volunteers sort food to check that it’s in date and pack it into boxes ready to be given to people in need.

Professionals identify people in need
Foodbanks partner with a wide range of care professionals such as doctors, health visitors, social workers and police to identify people in crisis and issue them with a foodbank e. voucher.

Clients receive food via delivery method
Food parcels will be delivered to everyone living in BD6 & BD12 areas (please make sure you are at home to receive your parcel as we will not leave food on your doorstep if no one is at home). Clients living in BD13 & BD19 will be contacted to arrange collection from Our Warehouse
Beyond Food: Additional Support
Food crisis often stems from deeper issues. That’s why we also offer additional support. At The Meeting Place, our community cafe on the high street in Wyke, we run a vital financial inclusion project. This offers practical advice and guidance to help people address the root causes of poverty and move towards greater financial stability.
